My heart goes out to the families of George Floyd, Breonna Taylor, Ahmaud Arbery and countless others murdered by police officers hired to protect us. I am aware I’ll never experience first hand the racial inequality faced by the black community everyday, but I sympathize with them deeply.
I not only hope to see change in our country, but I promise to be a part of that change using my voice and platform. As an artist, I’ve realized the importance of depicting the pressing issues that we face in today’s society. As ugly as it may be, we must show the reality of the circumstances in order to begin to rebuild.
Sometimes you need call it for what it is: systematic oppression. No one should be dying because of the color of their skin. Black lives matter, period, and I am with this fight 100%.
